Imota Chair Felicitates Ranodu, Agemo Chieftains on 2026 Eribi Festival

The Executive Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA),Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has extended his congratulations to the Ranodu of Imota, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, the Ranodu of Imota, Olufoworesete II, and chieftains of Agemo Eseuwele in Imota Kingdom on the occasion of 2026 celebration of Eribi Festival.

The annual festival which commences today, Wednesday, April 15th will last for the next one week.

Eribi festival which combines the celebrations of the popular Agemo and Eluku deities, is the most important festival as far as Ijebu and Remo lands are concerned.

Hon. Benson Ayodele, in a statement congratulating the traditional ruler and the institution, described the festival as a significant traditional celebration.

“Today, I extend my warmest wishes to the revered traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, the Ranodu of Imota, Olufoworesete II, as well as our respected Chieftains of Agemo Esuwele, Agemo Jamuse Ogbolojo, Ajo Eleluku, and all the Odosu, on the joyous occasion of the 2026 Eribi Festival.

The Eribi Festival remains a significant traditional celebration that offers a unique opportunity for our people to showcase our rich cultural heritage. It serves as a vibrant expression of our customs and traditions, proudly displayed in commemoration of this annual event,” he said.

The council boss, emphasising the importance of the festival, said that it reconnects the sons and daughters of Imota to their roots.

“This festival reminds us of our roots and reinforces the importance of preserving our cultural identity. It is essential that we continue to uphold and promote these cherished traditions so that future generations can understand, appreciate, and remain connected to their heritage.

“The Eribi Festival is not only a celebration of culture and tradition but also a reflection of the creativity, artistry, and spiritual depth of our people.

“As we celebrate this important occasion in our beloved community, I urge all residents to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and united, irrespective of religious differences. Our administration remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can coexist harmoniously, regardless of their beliefs or affiliations.
